For the last 7 years, we have been Northern Initiative for Community Empowerment. After reflecting the impact of our activities across the different communities over the last serveral years, we decided to get more local, get rooted firmly to the local communities and develop our programs with the involvment of the communities we serve. PIRWA is loosely translated from the local Lango Language dialect to mean "for us, together, by us".
Becoming PIRWA has changed our persspective of the communities we serve, it has made the communities to embrace us because we identify more with them.
